Warden Minecraft

The Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update is adding several peaceful mobs into the game for summer 2021 like Axolotls and Glow Squids… this is not one of them. The Warden is strongest hostile mob outside of the boss-tier hostiles like the Ender Dragon or Wither.

• During a Q&A session that Mojang released on YouTube, some of Minecraft's developers explained what they are thinking with some of the additions to the 1.17 Caves and Cliffs update. One unique thing that they said, was that Minecraft's 1.17 mob 'The Warden' is not actually a new boss, despite initial appearances.
• The Warden and Its Drops. In a recent interview, some of the people at Mojang said that they planned on maybe not giving the Warden a drop. They said that because they didn't want to incentivize players to kill the Warden, because you're not supposed to be able to. But I wholeheartedly disagree.

The creature has around 100 hit points and deals 15 hearts worth of damage on a single attack. That said, there are ways to seek out this creature and take it down.

Locating a Warden

Warden are only found at extremely low altitudes in the new Deep Dark biome. The one we were shown in the preview was pictured next to a new type of underground structure, suggesting the mob is tied to structure generation, just like the Piglin Brute, and will not respawn after it is defeated.

Just like seeing glow berries is a tell that you may be near Axolotls, if you find a grey chest-filled structure decorated with flickering candles and sculk blocks deep inside a cave, this insidious creature may very well be in your midst.

Defeating a Warden

The warden has a heightened sense of hearing and so sense of sight or smell. This means that carrying around snowballs to throw as a distraction is a great strategy. As long as you aren't making noise or moving much, the Warden will run to where the snowball landed.

Without armor, you can be killed in one hit. With the best armor in the game, you can be killed in two hits. If you want to take this creature down, try setting up a blockade it cannot get through, luring it over to the blockade with snowballs, and then shooting it with arrows at a safe distance.

It is a good idea to bring a bow enchanted with the infinity enchant, as to not deplete your resources.

If you do wish to use a sword, an enchanted Netherite sword with sharpness V is you best bet. It is not currently clear if smite will affect the Warden or not.

In case you do die, it is a good idea to bring a bed and set up a spawn point in a safe location close by to where you are fighting, as a failsafe.

Warden is a new mob that has been announced, by developers, to be added to Minecraft PE 1.17.0 during the summer update. It is a new hostile mob that lives in deep caves. Due to its severe habitat, the monster has not developed any eye-vision at all but instead uses hearing to navigate through space and to find prey.

What Snapshot Has The Warden

So when you're wandering deep in the caves, from now on, you should be aware that the noise you make – can attract someone not very friendly.

However, here are some simple tips on how to avoid death in case you've been spotted:

• Go into the Sneaking mode immediately. Warden won't hear your moving, and you will just need to get into a safe distance.
• Shoot some arrows in the opposite direction. The mob reacts to every noise made, not only just made by players.
